ALL ABOUT ALSR
Ordinary is never ordinary.
We begin with observation.
Before a garment is sketched, draped, or sewn, it is observed.
ALSR was founded by designer Alser Lumawag from a simple belief: that everyday life deserves to be seen differently.
While many fashion brands search for inspiration in distant places, luxury, or fantasy, ALSR looks closer.
A crowded market.
An office cubicle.
A public terminal.
A repair shop.
A stack of documents waiting on a desk.
These familiar environments become the starting point for contemporary garments that reinterpret the routines shaping our daily lives.
Fashion, for ALSR, begins not with trends—but with attention.
A Different Way of Looking
Growing up in Guimbal, Iloilo, Alser learned to appreciate the quiet rhythm of ordinary life.
Without constant exposure to the fashion industry, inspiration came from something much closer: observing people.
School uniforms.
Government offices.
Workwear.
The resilience of blue-collar workers.
The routines that often pass unnoticed.
Years later, while balancing a full-time career in a government bank with studying Fashion Design, these observations evolved into a design philosophy that continues to shape every ALSR collection.
Rather than escaping everyday life, ALSR celebrates it.
Fashion as Documentation
Every ALSR collection begins with research.
Ideas are gathered through observation, conversation, photography, sketches, and experimentation.
Garments are developed through tailoring, reconstruction, and repeated refinement—not simply to create clothing, but to preserve stories.
The finished pieces become documents.
Each seam records a memory.
Each silhouette reflects a place.
Each collection becomes another chapter in an expanding archive of contemporary Filipino life.
